Welcome to Music!
It's a blessing to welcome you to our Music Class at AMBS!
Our curriculum centers around worship. While the students are in the classroom, we will be applying our talents towards becoming better musicians with Jesus at the center of it all.
The following concepts will be learned and utilized throughout our school year:
- Reading Music Notes and Rhythms
- Basic Piano Methods
- Basic Music Theory and Ear Training
- Relating Scripture to Music
- Songwriting and Composition
and more!
Student Expectations
Music Class is participation based.
Students are expected to actively participate in songs, games, lectures, and written assignments during class and in preparation for the Concerts.
All students are required to participate in our Christmas and Spring Concerts. If they cannot participate, an alternate assignment will be given to them.
There is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for bullying of any kind in our class.
Choir
The AMBS Choir is an opportunity for students to experience the joy of singing together in a smaller setting. We focus on performance skills and understanding how to sing well with one another. In addition to the Christmas and Spring Concerts, the Choir also participates in performances throughout the year including First Friday Masses and Holiday Performances!
Choir Rehearsals for the 2024-2025 Year will be announced soon!
From Me to You:
Parents, I'm thrilled to offer your child(ren) the experience of worshipping together using music. It's one of the most powerful ways we can encounter Christ, both individually and as a community. Leading worship is my favorite thing to do - I can't wait to impart what I continue to learn in my career as a faithful Catholic musician into the hearts and minds of our students.
We can create the future of worship right here in our classroom - together!
