In the preschool we are learning basic vocabulary that will build the base for future Spanish learning. We cover topics that relate to basic things the children already know from home experiences. Some of the topics the children are exposed to are colors, numbers 1-10, family words, basic greeting words, food items, big and small, animals, and transportation. We also learn the signs of the cross in Spanish. The children have a great time holding props, singing to songs, and learning about the Spanish language.
Pre-K4, we are continuing to learn basic vocabulary that will build the base for future Spanish learning. We are also learning basic conversational words and have fun speaking in Spanish. Some of the topics we learn about are the Signs of the Cross, The Morning Offering Prayer, alphabet sounds, calendar, days of the week/months, weather, seasons, greeting words, colors, numbers 1-20/30, family, pets, opposites, food items, culture, and different feelings and moods. I use technology to help the children learn the Smart Board and expose them to fun Spanish songs and videos. The children play interactive games that I have created for them to learn through play. I also have many props, books, songs, and games that we play to further our Spanish learning.
