"In every neighborhood, all across our country, there are good people insisting on a good start for the young, and doing something about it."
- Mister Fred Rogers
It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood! Welcome to School!
I am Miss Natasha Diaz, and I am the Little Blessings: Pre-Kindergarten 2 and Pre-Kindergarten 3 teacher! I am very excited to welcome all of my lovely "little blessings" students to school, as well as their families and loved ones!
In Pre-K2 and in Pre-K3 we will be introduced to the basics of the world of education - we will explore step-by-step as a class and through guidance, the beginnings of: literacy through guided reading (out-loud storytime), the basics of writing (tracing letters and basic words), and phonetics (spoken words and basic complete sentences); mathematics through guided counting (1 apple, 2 apples, 3 apples), basic concepts of addition and subtraction (Macie has 1 apple, and Jason has 1 apple: together they have 2 apples), and recognition of shapes and geometrical objects (a clock is a circle and a pencil box is a rectangle); science through the ideas of our environment (we live by a forest and we go to the beach), the solar system (we live on the planet Earth and are warmed by one of the largest stars: the Sun), and seasonal changes (Christmas is in the cold winter and Easter is in the warm Spring); social studies and social skills through the importance of self-identity (my name is Daphne/Gregorio), safety (firefighters and police officers help us), and our communities (we live in a town in New Jersey which is in the United States of America); religion through prayer (Hail Mary, Our Father, Snack Prayer), guided morals (sharing and caring), and of course, Biblical teachings (the Immaculate Conception, Jesus is born, Jesus welcomes the children).
Every lesson will be approached slowly, with patience, and understanding, through: active play, sensory methods, artistic creativity, self expression, circle time, and so on, ensuring our little students become fantastic, well-rounded, little learners!
Here is the 2025-2026 Supply List for all who may need:

Important Notes
- As per school policy, all of our classes/rooms are nut-free environments - this is for the safety of our little students!
- If there are any allergies that I should be made aware of, please let me know (i.e. this is for in the case of class parties, where different food/items would be brought in/used).
- In the case of class parties and celebrations, all food and drink items must be store-bought - no home-made items - with the ingredients label visible.
- There will be daily snack-times and an in-class lunchtime, I ask to please provide a small snack and lunch. I also like to ask, if the snack/lunch contains smaller items (i.e. grapes), to please cut/slice the item beforehand.
In order to participate in classroom activities, parents are required to:
1. Fill out a volunteer application - these can be found on the school website, I will link the page below (if you have trouble finding the application, please reach out to the Main Office).
2. Complete a volunteer background check - like 1, I will link the school website page at the end of this e-mail, that has the link listed needed to complete this step.
3. Protecting God's Children. Step 3 is very important and is crucial to be completed and submitted - if it is not, unfortunately, a parent cannot attend any classroom activities. Please make sure to complete Protecting God's Children and submit the forms to the Main Office as soon as possible for any future classroom activities. For anyone who has completed Protecting God's Children in the past, to please check with the Main Office to make sure that it is still valid.
4. Archdiocese of Newark Policy Form - like 1 and 2, I will link the specific school website page (if you have trouble finding the form, please reach out to the school office).
For all four steps, please review with the Main Office to make sure everything is on file.
